In a development not all that surprising to Ohio State Basketball fans, junior big man David Bell, apparently is headed elsewhere. Brian Snow, longtime college basketball reporter for Scout.com, was the first to report the news via Twitter.
Bell was a sophomore eligibility wise last year, having red-shirted his first year. He played sparingly, averaging 1.3 points and just under 2 rebounds in 15 games played. Bell, 6'9, 225 pounds, is a native of Cleveland. He never was able to break into Ohio State's regular rotation of big men, relegated to a third option behind Trevor Thompson and Micah Potter.
Thompson appears to be leaving, having declared for the NBA draft but Bell likely would still be third string. Potter returns for his sophomore year and the Buckeyes are adding Ohio Mr. Basketball big man Kaleb Wesson next year.
