A day after plucking a commitment from defensive end Brenton Cox from Georgia, the Buckeyes nabbed another top prospect from SEC country. Defensive back Sevyn Banks out of Orlando, Florida announced for the Buckeyes, choosing Ohio State over schools like Auburn, Florida, LSU, Florida State and others.
Banks is yet another highly rated prospect in the 2018 class. He's 6'1, 180 pounds and has a 4-star rating from ESPN and is their 99th ranked prospect overall. He is a major get for Ohio State's coaching staff, as they continue to produce top defensive back talent. Banks commitment was clearly good news to OSU DB coach Kerry Coombs.
