COTA's Revamped Bus Routes Begin Monday

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Central Ohio Transit Authority is unveiling its revamped bus system, with re-configured routes and re-numbered lines, on Monday, May 1st.

COTA Vice President of Communications, Marty Stutz, says it took three-and-a-half years of studies, research, and feedback to come up with a system that better serves the community, especially seven days a week, not just during normal work hours on weekdays.

"During the planning process, we hosted a number of community meetings, and listened to folks who use our service today, and also people who may not use our service because it may not be convenient for them or didn't operate when they needed it," Stutz said.

The plan also includes more routes taken off of High Street, with stops along Front Street, 3rd Street and 4th Street, to help ease congestion.

To help riders get around with the changes, all of COTA's services are free from May 1st through the 7th. They'll also have extra staff on hand for their customer service line, 614-228-1776, to help those that need it.
