Football Buckeyes Land Top In State Prospect

Urban Meyer and the Football Buckeyes continue to recruit at a high level. After putting together a 2017 class ranked No. 2 nationally according to the experts, the 2018 class has quickly filled up with blue-chip prospects. The latest came Tuesday, when linebacker Dallas Gant (6'2, 225), committed to the Buckeyes, choosing Ohio State over rival Michigan, as well as Penn State, Michigan State and Notre Dame.

What makes Gant's commitment even bigger is that he is considered the state of Ohio's No. 1 2018 defensive prospect according to the 24-7 sports rankings. Overall, Gant is the 10th player in the Buckeye class...seven of those 10 are ranked among the top 100 prospects nationally. The video of Gant's entire commitment ceremony--held on his 17th birthday--was posted on YouTube. You can check it out below as well as the social media reaction from Ohio State linebackers coach Bill Davis and OSU Director of Player Personnel Mark Pantoni.
