Local student's body Recovered off South Carolina coast

FRIPP ISLAND, South Carolina (WTVN)--The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina has confirmed that the body of 16-year-old Franklin "Eric" Clark was recovered early Monday afternoon off the coast of Fripp Island.

Clark was swimming off the coast of the island on Sunday when he went missing. Divers were able to recover his body.

The Beaufort County Coroners Office has scheduled a forensic autopsy to confirm a cause of death, but based on witness accounts, it appears to have been caused by accidental drowning.

Clark was a student at Thomas Worthington High School, and had been in the South Carolina area for a basketball camp.
