City Shuts Down Strip Club

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The City of Columbus has moved in to shut down a strip club on the east side that has been the subject of hundreds of police calls over the last two years.

The City Attorney's Office says they filed an emergency board-up request against Rachel's Gentlemen's Club on Channingway Boulevard, and was granted on Wednesday.

Columbus police received multiple reports of violent criminal activity at the establishment, beginning in February 2015. Incidents range from robberies by employees, to shots fired, to assaults, to a suspected homicide near the premises on June 1st, 2017.

The establishment was also found to be serving alcohol to minors. A hearing to consider a permanent injunction against Rachel's is next for next month in Franklin County Environmental Court.
