COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A jury in Franklin County has found Lincoln Rutledge guilty of killing a Columbus Police Officer.
Rutledge was convicted on nine of the eleven counts against him related to the shooting death of SWAT Officer Steven M. Smith. Other charges included attempted murder and arson.
Officers were serving an arrest warrant at Rutledge's home in Clintonville in April of 2016 when Rutledge begin firing a gun at officers, striking Officer Smith in the head.
Rutledge is now eligible for the death penalty. That phase of Rutledge's trial begins Monday.
