COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Thousands of people in central Ohio are without power Tuesday, thanks to stormy weather Monday afternoon, evening and early Tuesday.

AEP crews continue working to restore service. Click here to check on outages in your area.

The outages are the result of high winds downing trees and power lines, while heavy rain is blamed for causing flash flooding.

At one point Monday afternoon, High Street in the area of the Ohio State campus in Columbus could have been renamed "High Water" Street, as flooding made it impassable.

More rain is in the forecast for central Ohio on Tuesday.
