The owner of the bison, along with units from FCSO and Grove City police, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and several local farmers worked to try to corral the animals but, apparently due to their agitated state, those efforts were unsuccessful.

ODNR advised those onsite that the bison shouldn't be allowed to go into residential neighborhoods and, after talking over a number of options, the decision was made to several options were proposed, it was determined that the animals would be killed to keep everyone safe.

The Sheriff's Office says no law enforcement personnel on scene fired any shots, but deputies stayed to keep the area secured.
