Columbus murders now top those for all of 2016

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Three people are dead, two others were hurt in separate gunfire incidents on opposite sides of Columbus.

According to police, JoJo Holloway, 17, was shot and killed at a home on Alwood Lane on the southeast side Tuesday afternoon.

Brent Black, 31, was also shot and died at Grant Medical Center

Officers arrested Jordan Aekins near the scene and charged him with murder.

Also Tuesday, a man was shot and killed on the northeast side of the city.

Officers responding to a crash at Agler Road and Citygate Drive found 25-year-old Abdisalam Mohamud in the driver's seat with a gunshot wound.

Mohamud later died of his injuries at a hospital.

Police believe the shooter, Nuradin Abdi Ali took off after he was shot but eventually returned to the scene to talk to police.

The deaths bring Columbus's homicide total for the year to 107, more than for all of 2016.
