Cleveland Browns Fire Sashi Brown, keep Hue Jackson

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WTVN)--The Cleveland Browns have announced that Executive Vice-President of Football Operations, Sashi Brown, has been fired.

According to a statement from the team, released Thursday, "Brown was hired as the Browns’ executive vice president/general counsel on Jan. 16, 2013 and was promoted to executive vice president of football operations on Jan. 3, 2016."

In addition, Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam indicated that Head Coach Hue Jackson will be retained for the 2018 season. "Hue Jackson will remain our coach and will return for the 2018 season but we feel it is necessary to take significant steps to strengthen our personnel department," Haslam said in a statement.

The Browns are 0-12 thus far for the 2017 NFL season, and 1-26 since the beginning of the 2016 season, when both Brown and Jackson were brought in.
