Newspapers, tricycles and toys

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Drive around the parking lot of United Healthcare's Westerville office around 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, and you're likely to see a bunch of adults riding around on tricycles.

It's a race between United Healthcare and Mercer employees, and they'll be raising money for The Bike Lady, a charity that provides new bikes for kids in foster care.

The event also gives Ohio inmates a chance to give back by volunteering to put the bikes together.

Charity Newsies are ready to hit the streets of Franklin County Saturday, selling a special edition of the Columbus Dispatch.

The volunteers wearing their white coveralls will be at key intersections, raising funds to help buy clothes for kids in need.

You won't have to get out of your car if you want to donate to Nationwide Children's Hospital's Holiday Toy Drive Saturday.

Just drive up to the hospital's Urgent Care parking lot downtown between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and you'll see volunteers ready to take your toys.

Used toys or stuffed animals can't be accepted. Also, no food or clothing donations, please.
