Winter Weather Arrives in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Rain turned to ice Friday afternoon in central Ohio as a long-awaited winter weather system arrived in the Columbus area.

ABC6's First Warning Weather team had been predicting a mixture of freezing rain, sleet and icing conditions for the Columbus area starting mid-afternoon Friday.

In Marble Cliff, the rain changed to sleet at about 3:20pm. Up to a tenth of an inch of ice is possible with the storm, and 3 to 5 inches of snow is also expected by Saturday afternoon.
