COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) --A family from Kentucky was looking forward to starting a new life in northeast Ohio, but those plans have been sidelined after their U-Haul caught fire along I-71 in Delaware County Friday morning.
Chrissy Lafferty tells sister station 92.3 WCOL that they lost everything in the fire, discovered as they pulled over at a rest stop north of Polaris.
Lafferty, her fiance, their two and a half month old baby, Chrissy's mother and their two pets were making the trip from Louisville, KY to Lorain. All are okay.
There are efforts to help out the family through donations to a bank account. Those plans are still being worked out.
