Jury Recommends Life Without Parole for Golsby

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The jury in the murder trial of Brian Golsby has recommended that he spend the rest of his life in prison, without the chance of parole.

The jury returned the decision Wednesday morning after deliberating for about seven hours on sentencing. The same jury last week convicted Golsby for the kidnapping, rape, and murder of OSU student Reagan Tokes from February of 2017.

In their decision read by Judge Mark Serrott, they were deadlocked on whether to recommended the death penalty for Golsby, which is what prosecutors were pursuing.

Judge Serrott is set to formally sentence Golsby Wednesday afternoon.
