Search for CCS Superintendent to Start Over

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Columbus City Schools Board of Education will start their search for a new Superintendent from the beginning.

The board voting unanimously to start over after allegations from Ohio Auditor of State Dave Yost that claimed the board violated open meetings laws by conducting much of the business behind closed doors.

Dr. Dan Good retired as Superintendent in December, and Dr. John Stanford is still serving in the interim. Stanford was also the last remaining candidate in the original search, after others were taken out of the running or opted out.

The new search begins "immediately." This time around, a lawyer and a mediator will be brought in to ensure that the search follows the law.
