Report: FBI looking at travels of Ohio House Speaker

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- The Dayton Daily News is reporting that Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger's trip to Europe last August is the subject of an FBI investigation.

The paper says the probe centers on Rosenberger's trip to Europe last August, sponsored by the Republican electoral group GOPAC.

The FBI is neither confirming nor denying there's an investigation underway.

Earlier, the paper had reported that Rosenberger had hired a criminal defense attorney after learning the FBI was asking questions about him.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, a Republican running for governor, says he urged Rosenberger to resign if he had done anything wrong but was told that's not the case.
