Delaware County students could miss out on D.C. trip

LEWIS CENTER, Ohio (WTVN) -- Dozens of Olentangy Orange Middle School students may miss out on a trip to Washington, DC.

The district says the eighth-grade class trip is in limbo because the company hired to arrange the tour isn't paying its bills.

Cleveland-based Discovery Tours is in hot water after canceling a trip for students in the Cleveland area when it couldn't finish paying for hotel rooms, despite families paying the full cost of the field trip.

That prompted Hilliard City Schools to put an upcoming field trip on hold.

And, Dublin City Schools says it's had issues in the past with Discovery Tours as well.
