Abandoned Dog, Marked with Permanent Marker, up for Adoption

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (WTVN)--A dog found abandoned in a park in Ross County, covered in writing from a permanent marker, is close to going up for adoption.

The Ross County Humane Society says the female lab mix has been named "Marvella", which means miracle. She was found abandoned in a kennel in a park in Chillicothe last week, with the word, "free" written on her body, and "good home only" written on her head.

The dog is estimated to be between five and six months old.

Humane Society volunteers say most of the markings have now been removed, and the dog should be available for adoption as early as Wednesday.
