Girl hit by gunfire from car in South Linden

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- An 11-year old Columbus girl was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday with a bullet wound, apparently the unintended victim of a drive-by shooting.

It happened just before 1 a.m. in South Linden, in the 1100 block of Chittenden Avenue.

Police say the girl was inside a house when she was struck. She is reported in stable condition and is expected to survive.

Police are searching for a maroon car from which the shots are believed to have been fired.
