Steamy Monday weather includes air quality alert

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Monday will see Central Ohio in the grips of more heat and humidity.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory as highs Monday head for the low 90's, with a heat index approaching 100 degrees.

And, an Air Quality Alert is in effect again Monday for high levels of smog over the region, so people are being urged to cut back on driving and strenuous outdoor activities.

Lifecare Alliance needs your help to provide relief from the heat to Columbus residents.

The nonprofit group is accepting donations of electric box fans for its disabled and elderly clients.

You can drop off new fans at Lifecare Alliance on West Mound Street or any Columbus fire station.
