Separate central Ohio drowning incidents claim two lives

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Search efforts will resume in Licking County Monday for a man who went missing but is presumed dead in Blackhand Gorge.

Sheriff's deputies say the 22-year-old Newark man was on a raft with friends Sunday when he fell into the licking river and didn't resurface.

Fast-moving water hampered a rescue attempt and the search.

Meanwhile, in Columbus, a man was pulled from the water at Runaway Bay Apartments, off West Fifth Ave. near McKinley Saturday night.

Investigators say he'd been swimming with friends in one of the water-filled quarries when they lost track of him. He later died.
