A Former Buckeye Committed To "Paying It Forward"

Former Buckeye linebacker Ryan Miller, an Ohio State teammate of my radio partner Stan Jackson, has made a major impact on the community. Miller, with Buckeye teammates Luke Fickell and Mike Vrabel, started the "2nd & 7 Foundation" almost 20 years ago. The aim of the non-profit organization, as defined on its website is "to promote reading by providing free books and positive role models to kids in need, while encouraging young athletes of the community to pay it forward."

This has been a big week for the foundation, with their youth football camp which wrapped up Wednesday and Thursday's "8-ball shootout" in the Short North. Ryan joined Stan and me on "The Drive" Wednesday afternoon to talk about "2nd & 7," the football camp, the 8-ball shootout, and also--some football and the safety of the game. In terms of impressive former Buckeyes who have truly made a difference, Ryan ranks right at the top. It was an enjoyable conversation with a guy who gets it. You can check it out here.
