COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- An area of Columbus that's been the scene of violence will be connecting with a Safe Streets program in hopes of making the community safer.
Safe Streets' Parsons Avenue corridor wants to connect with South Columbus neighbors after an upsurge in crime in 2017.
Mainly, the group wants to reduce crime problems between Frebis Avenue and State Route 104.
Safe Streets Linden is a similar program in northeast Columbus and is credited with reducing crime in the community by 55 percent.
