Reports: LeBron James Opts Out of Contract, Becomes Free Agent

CLEVELAND, Ohio (24-7 News)--Reports say LeBron James is becoming a free agent.

Cleveland.com says "The King" will not exercise the nearly 36-million dollar option on his contract with the Cavaliers for next season.

The site says James' agent called the Cavs this morning and let team officials know that a decision had been made.

Sports analysts say James can explore playing for other teams like the heavily rumored Los Angeles Lakers starting on Sunday, but he can also renegotiate a new contract with the Cavs worth over 200 million dollars.
