COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- The man accused of setting his ex-girlfriend on fire pleaded guilty Thursday morning to aggravated murder.
As a result, Michael Slager avoided a possible death sentence and instead will spend the rest of his life in prison with no chance of parole for the 2015 death of Judy Malinowski.
Slager doused Malinowski with gasoline and set her on fire.
Slager's trial was scheduled to get underway on Friday.
