On a global scale, the Trump/Putin summit Monday grabbed all the headlines but in the world of Columbus sports, the Kekalainen/Panarin summit was more significant. Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen met with Jackets star Artemi Panarin and his agent in Nice, France. Panarin, who has one year left on his contract, has indicated he does not want to discuss a long-term deal with the Jackets. According to reports, Kekalainen's sit down with Panarin lasted only 45 minutes. Is that a bad sign? Does it indicate that Panarin reaffirmed he does not intend to be a Columbus Blue Jacket long term? Those are the kind of questions I asked Blue Jackets beat writer Aaron Portzline on "The Drive" on 105.7, The Zone Monday. Porty, as always, had great information and also updated us on the status of talks between the Jackets and goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. You can check out my conversation with Aaron here.
