Sullinger Out For This Weekends TBT

The Scarlet and Gray team playing in the $2 million winner take all "TBT" will have to advance this weekend without its star player. Jared Sullinger who had 28 points and 20 rebounds in Sunday's win at Capital over The Matadors, a Texas Tech alumni team, will miss Friday's "Super 16" game against Prime Time Players. Scarlet and Gray coach Scoonie Penn gave us the news on 105.7, The Zone Thursday afternoon and indicated that if the OSU alumni team advanced, they're not expecting Sullinger in the round of 8 either.

There was some question as to whether Sullinger would play because of his upcoming wedding this weekend. On Monday, however, Penn, with 105.7 The Zone's Bruce Hooley indicated that Sully was good to go. Things changed however and Sullinger will not play. Also, Byron "B.J." Mullens is no longer with the team. Mullens, on Instagram, said it was over a dispute on how much each player would be paid should Scarlet and Gray win the tournament. Greg Oden, however, who missed last weekend, will be available.

If you missed the interview Thursday with Scoonie in which we talked about the Sullinger news, last weekend's wins, their match-up Friday, the TBT's "Elam Ending" and more, you can check it out here.
