LISTEN: Lynn Bruce Talks About OSU Situation

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The mother of former Ohio State Wide Receivers Coach Zach Smith is speaking out about the situation involving Ohio State, and the incident that led to Head Coach Urban Meyer being placed on paid administrative leave.

Lynn Bruce spoke to 610-WTVN's Joel Riley Monday about her son's situation with his now-ex wife, while still acknowledging that anything she says is a mother defending her son.

Lynn is the daughter of former Ohio State Football Coach Earle Bruce, and Zach Smith is Earle's grandson.

Lynn said that people put things out there that are not based in fact, but have taken off and caused a storm, saying, "I know that there's a lot more behind this, and there's a lot more truth that will come out."

Bruce saying she is not putting information out there to hurt her son or her grandchildren.

Smith was fired from Ohio State aftrer his ex-wife, Courtney Smith, filed a civil protection order against him. This follows Zach being charged with criminal trespassing, over claims he violated the shared parenting agreement.

Meyer was placed on paid administrative leave after a report surfaced last week, claiming he had knowledge of an incident involving Zach and Courtney Smith in 2015, which cited text messages between Courtney and Meyer's wife, Shelley.
