Man mistakes granddaughter for intruder

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- A shooting death and SWAT standoff on the east side of Columbus appears to have been the result of a tragic mistake.

Police responding around 11 p.m. Wednesday to a home on Berkeley Road found a woman outside with a bullet wound.

Jordan Williams, 19, died after being rushed to the hospital.

Columbus police say Williams lived at the home with her grandfather and arriving without her keys, tapped on the window, hoping to get his attention.

Inside, Booker Moody, 72, fired a shot, not realizing it was his granddaughter.

The SWAT team negotiated with Moody for almost an hour before taking him into custody.

He faces one count of murder.
