New Ride Operator Selected for Ohio State Fair

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio Expositions Commission, which manages the Ohio State Fair and the Ohio Expo Center, has signed a contract with a new company to provide the rides for the Ohio State Fair.

A statement from the center, released Friday, says the group went through a six-month process to select a new provider, ultimately going with Talley Amusements, a company based out of Fort Worth, Texas.

Their four-year contract begins with the 2019 Ohio State Fair.

The commission received proposals from five companies, including Amusements of America, who had provided the rides for the fair for the previous 26 years.

A of A also provided the "Fire Ball" ride, which broke apart during operation at the 2017 Ohio State Fair, killing two people, and injuring several others.

Talley Amusements has proved rides for such events as the Iowa State Fair, The State Fair of Texas, and the Forth Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.
