DeWine-Cordray debate #1, large on offense

DAYTON, Ohio (WTVN) -- Democrat Richard Cordray and Republican Mike DeWine's campaigns are preparing for the next round after a lively first debate Wednesday night at the University of Dayton.

Cordray promised to work on drugs and addiction while DeWine defended his record on drug related issues and talked about his 12-point plan to make further progress.

The candidates also outlined differing opinions on the controversial heartbeat bill and traded shots on the ECOT scandal, legalizing marijuana, and Issue One.

There are two more debates scheduled before the November election on October 1st in Marietta and October 8th in Cleveland.
