COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The city of Columbus has taken preliminary action against the owner of a home dubbed a "drug fortress".
City Attorney Zach Klein says the property along South Harris Avenue, on Columbus's west side, has reinforced steel doors, plexiglass windows, security cameras, a vicious dog, and several handguns and rifles.
The city secured the order to shut down the property on Monday.
Officials have had their eyes on the area since 2017, and it is the 14th drug house to be shut down in the city this year.
The investigation started with the covert purchases of narcotics from the property, with at least one purchase being of heroin mixed with fentanyl. A previous raid on the home produced heroin, crack cocaine, and cash.
A preliminary hearing on the order is set for next week.
