Two Columbus Neighborhoods Among Lowest Life-Expectancy in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--According to a new statewide study, Franklinton and the Hilltop are among four communities with the lowest life expectancy rates in Ohio.

The report released yesterday by the Health Policy Institute of Ohio says unequal health opportunities and lack of access are major factors for the neighborhoods' poor results.

The study's data shows the average life expectancy in Ohio is around 77-years old, while in Franklinton and the Hilltop that number drops to around 61-years old.

Officials say the city needs to help bring in more accessible health resources to help residents improve their care.
