Giant Eagle Recalls Pasta Salad

COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--Giant Eagle, which has dozens of locations in Central Ohio and over 120 across the state, is recalling a variety of pasta salad due to possible contamination from Listeria and salmonella.

The company issued the recall Wednesday for all smokey mozzarella pasta salad sold after October 16th in the prepared foods department.

A spokesman with Giant Eagle said the recall is voluntary, and no reports of illness had been confirmed, but the red pepper used to make the salad was suspected as the cause.

Affected products carry a seven-six-five-seven-eight PLU number and customers can either dispose of it or bring it and a receipt back to any Giant Eagle to receive a refund.
