Renovated Palace Theatre Reopens Friday

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The historic Palace Theatre in downtown Columbus will reopen this Friday, following a multi-million dollar renovation of the facility's auditorium.

CAPA is in the midst of refurbishing the 92-year-old theatre, with crews taking the last six months to replace and repair damaged plaster, install new seats for the main floor, refurbish the seats in the balcony, and install new LED lights for the dome and main chandelier.

There's an ongoing $6.5-million capital campaign to fun the full restoration of the facility, which included a new HVAC system and a new roof. Renovations to the building's lobby and front doors are also in the works.

Comedian Jim Gaffigan will be the first performer at the theatre following the most recent renovations, on Friday, November 2nd.
