Columbus Shoppers to Spend over $900 This Holiday

UNDATED (WTVN)--A new report previewing holiday shopping trends for 2018 gives Columbus shoppers an average budget of over $900 this season.

The report released Tuesday by Wallethub breaks down factors for large cities across the US, like average monthly income, monthly expenses, ratio of debt to income, and ratio of debt to savings.

Columbus's number, at $930, is 4th highest in the country in 2018, behind only San Francisco, Seattle, and San Jose.

Overall, the report say average holiday spending is expected to top $1000 this year, an increase of 4.1% over 2017.

The rest of the top-10 for cities for average holiday spending includes Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Washington, DC; Austin, TX; Henderson, NV; and Raleigh, NC.
