Two OSU Students Cited For Jumping Into Mirror Lake

COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--Two Ohio State students are now facing charges of criminal trespassing and possible other sanctions after video surfaced online of them jumping into Mirror Lake on campus.

An Instagram post uploaded over the weekend shows two unnamed female students running into the drained lake.

The school emptied the lake of most of its water a week ago and posted signs warning of criminal charges against anyone unlawfully entering the area.

For decades, an unsanctioned event called the Mirror Lake Jump would take place during Michigan week, which the University vowed to end after a student drowned during the jump in 2015.
