COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A bill passed by the Ohio legislature to make revenge porn illegal is now on its way to the governor's desk to be signed into law.
House Bill 497 cleared the house and senate yesterday and if made into law would prohibit the non-consensual distribution of private sexual images. The bill classifies any offenses as misdemeanors and creates protections for victims of revenge porn.
If signed by Governor Kasich, the law would be effective in 90-days.
