Nationwide Arena Ranks Near the Bottom for Food Safety

COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--Nationwide Arena in Columbus is ranked near the bottom of the list in a new report tracking the cleanliness of major sports venues concessions stands.  

According to the report published Thursday on ESPN, of the health inspection reports gathered between 2016 and 2017 from 111 arenas and stadiums in North America, Nationwide is ranked at number 96. 

Among the 31 NHL arenas, Nationwide Arena was ranked 3rd-worst.

Types of violations looked at included poor condition of food, the presence of pests or bugs, and unsafe temperatures for food storage.  

While Nationwide did not fare well compared to other sports sites in the U.S. the report did note that it received a lower percentage of high-level violations compared to other restaurants and food service providers in the immediate Central Ohio area.
