COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--A Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy is being applauded for his actions after video is released of him saving a man from committing suicide earlier this month.
Video viewed over 120-thousand times as of Thursday shows the incident on December 2nd when Deputy William Ball pulls a man back after he starts to jump from an overpass on Georgesville Road above I-270.
Officials say the man told Ball he intended to harm himself before apologizing and attempting to leap over the edge.
Ball credited department training in crisis intervention for his response to the situation and lamented that deputies see this kind of attempt on a regular basis.
