OSU Rose Bowl Win sets TV Ratings Record

COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--The Ohio State Buckeyes Rose Bowl victory over the Washington Huskies broke television viewership ratings records for non-playoff New Year's Six bowl games.

The game received a nine-point-seven rating which eclipsed the previous record set in 2017 when USC played Penn State in the Rose Bowl.

Locally the game scored huge ratings with a 42-point-seven rating in the Columbus media market which led all media markets across the country.

The game also marked the end of the head coaching career of Urban Meyer, who spent seven seasons with the Buckeyes, winning three Big ten Championships, the National Championship in 2014, and a 7-0 record against Michigan.
