$500,000 Donation from Pfizer to Assist Children in Rural Southern OH

COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--Outgoing Ohio Governor John Kasich announced the donation of 500-thousand dollars from the Pfizer Company to help Ohio children growing up in poor rural areas of Appalachia.

Kasich told reporters the money would go to support a pilot program begun in Pike County last year.

Kasich started the Hurt to Hope program to provide state funding to organizations like the YMCA to assist families suffering from poverty and addiction.

Kasich said the donation from Pfizer would ensure the program continues after he leaves office on Monday.
