Reaction To Tate Martell's Potential Transfer

With word coming down Thursday that Ohio State quarterback Tate Martell had put his name into the NCAA transfer portal, it could leave the Buckeyes with a severe depth issue at quarterback. Ohio State expects Georgia transfer Justin Fields to be eligible next year, but his waiver with the NCAA still has to be approved. If it is not, it means Matthew Baldwin and Chris Chugunov, who arrived in the fall as a grad transfer from West Virginia, will be the only eligible QB's on the roster. Even if Fields, as expected, gets the green light, if Martell leaves, Ohio State will still be much thinner than desired when it comes to quarterback depth.

Former Buckeye assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Bill Conley, part of our Best Buckeye Coverage team on 105.7, the Zone, joined us on "The Drive" Thursday to talk about the Martell news. Bill also told us what Ryan Day and the coaching staff are likely thinking when it comes to adding a quarterback by next season. Bill's always terrific and it was another good conversation.
