CBJ Anthem Singer Forgets Mic, Crowd Sings With Him

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Fans of the Columbus Blue Jackets were called on to help out one of their favorites on Sunday.

Just before the start of the game at Nationwide Arena against the New York Rangers, National Anthem Singer Leo Welsh was introduced to perform his normal duties, but he forgot one important thing...his microphone.

According to a video posted to the Jackets official twitter account, Welsh called on the fans to help him sing.

The Jackets won the game as well, 7-5. The team also honored former player Rick Nash before the game.

Nash was advised to retire following unresolved concussion issues and scored 437-goals and 368-assists in a 16-year career which included nine seasons in Columbus after being drafted by the CBJ first overall in 2002.
