Federal Court Orders Mediation in Strauss Abuse Case

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- A federal judge in Columbus has ordered both sides in the Dr. Richard Strauss abuse case to meet and come to a mutual understanding of some kind. The mediation order was issued Thursday.

"For me personally, it's been nine months of significant stress," says Brian Garrett, one of the public faces of the 150+ abuse victims. "I called my wife and [while] I'm not a person that cries, I started to break down because of all the stuff we've gone through."

Garrett says he and the other abuse victims are looking forward to closure and a chance to heal. They want the mediation to be respectful and dignified. The court-ordered mediation is expected by the end of February.
