New Short North Parking Rules Take Effect

COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--New parking rules in the Short North are set to take effect today in the neighborhood north of downtown.

Columbus parking officials say they will begin issuing warning tickets today for violations of the new regulations as residents adjust to the changes.

Officials say the warnings will be issued for a few weeks, but then tickets will be posted on cars in the Short North, Victorian and Italian Villages.

The biggest change under the new rule is drivers are now required to pay to park on all streets either by using meters, purchasing permits or using a smartphone app when no meters are available.
