COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Franklin County Coroner is reporting a spike in overdose deaths in a 24-hour period this week.
Dr. Anahi Ortiz says her office is investigation five apparent overdose deaths between early Monday morning and early Tuesday morning.
The deaths were reported in Groveport, Grove City, Gahanna, and Worthington.
Dr. Ortiz says investigators are still working to determine if they are connected to fentanyl.
She encourages family and friends of those susceptible to overdose to carry Naloxone with them, which can be obtained without a prescription, at a cost, through your health insurance.
