COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash in Blendon Township, which left a bicyclist dead.
Investigators say it happened just after 6:30PM Sunday along Sunbury Road, near Yellowhammer Drive. The bicycle, riding in the middle of the left lane, was hit from behind by an SUV.
Paramedics from the Westerville Fire Department responded, and pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported. Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor. The bicycle rider was not wearing a helmet or reflective clothing at the time of the crash. The bicycle also did not have any lights.
The name of the bicyclist is being withheld until family is notified.
