Franklin County Jail Inmate Tests Positive for Hepatitis-A

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has confirmed an inmate at the Jackson Pike Facility, that worked in the kitchen, has tested positive for Hepatitis-A.

Officials say the inmate showed symptoms of the condition on March 9th, and the positive diagnosis was received this past Monday.

Columbus Public Health has been notified. As a result, inmates and other jail staff that may have been exposed have been offered vaccinations, and the inmate has been medically isolated.

Vaccination clinics will continue to be held at the Jackson Pike facility once a week for the next month.
